Facility Vulnerability with VISAC

Use of VISAC - Main Window

The main window of VISAC is divided into two panels: one panel on the left consisting of an expandable tree structure describing the current facility or project. The tree shows the incident details of the project or the model details of the facility. The user can expand or condense the tree to show more or less information. The user may also double-click items in the description to launch the appropriate editor/viewer for that information. The second panel on the right shows a diagram or image of the current facility. Messages will appear in the left panel to help the user start the analysis procedure.

The menu structure of VISAC is laid out left-to-right in the order in which the user will typically use things:

• System - directory setup and exit.
• Facility - start a new, load an existing, save as, close or delete a facility. For the library plants, information, images and rendered movies are also available using this menu. Also listed under this menu are the editors/displays for the various models associated with a facility. Users can also view the geometry model of the plant using a 2D or 3D viewer. With each Facility is a set of Grids. These grids are sets of blast points for the standard VISAC weapons.
• Project - start a new, open an existing, save as, close or delete a project.
• Incident - add, edit or delete incidents of a project. For each incident, the user can view the following: an incident summary; the fault trees with damaged components and event tree paths highlighted; a calculation report from the fault tree solver; the details of what was damaged before, during and after the incident; and a graph of the downtime probabilites. The user can also use the 2D or 3D geometry viewers to show the cumulative damage for any incident.
• Post-Project - actions to be done once all of the incidents for a project are defined, such as viewing timelines for all of the incidents together or setting up and running MBLM for this project.
• Help - displays this documentation using the system web browser.
